4DSOUND offers creative software technology that enables to spatialise sound from any source, within any speaker configuration.

4D Engine

4DSOUND works with virtual sound objects that exist in a cartesian space. As a user you do not need to consider the actual speakers, but approach the space as a three dimensional continuum, like a spatial canvas.

The core of the 4DSOUND suite is the 4D Engine, which processes audio and spatial data, and distributes spatial sound to a specific speaker grid. The 4D Engine has an open backend and receives spatial data through OSC (Open Sound Control) that allows to create custom interfacing with any software or hardware that supports this protocol.

The 4D Monitor is a separate app that visualises a 3D render of the speaker grid, virtual sound sources, and other spatial data like paths and effects.

4DSOUND provides extensive interfacing which enables to sequence complex spatialisation and intuitive live control. The suite is designed both for composition and live performance. A set of 4D Max for Live Devices transforms Ableton Live into a powerful integrated workstation, and 4D Pad offers an extensive mobile touch interface.
